Horacy Debowski from the D-ILA project was a panellist at the “Making all skills visible” European Policy Conference in Stockholm, Sweden. The conference was organised as part of the international TRANSVAL-EU project.
During the panel discussion, the focus was on the importance and challenges of assessing and certifying transversal competences. There was also a discussion on how to promote the development of transversal competences at national and European levels. It was noted that transversal competences need to be clearly defined if policy aims to support a particular area of intervention. However, this is a challenge as terminology related to transversal or soft competences varies within and across countries. The D-ILA project could benefit from the TRANSVAL-EU project definitions and research outcomes regarding transversal competences and practices related to their identification and documentation.
